What tier/cost of Luxire fabric quality do I need to target to get something on par with quality shirts like an OTR Turnbull & Asser? My only MTM shirt before was a Jantzen and the fabric ended up being so poor that I considered it unwearable. I am looking for that very smooth feeling cotton like T&A shirts have.

My guess is $130 but I would love to hear other opinions.

@Luxire: What's the difference between the Monti of Italy - White Poplin 2/140 at $79.99 and the one at $89.99?

No way - I have beautiful shirts from Luxire that were $60.

In my experience with Luxire, something that is 120/140 is a good guide. And if it's branded, even better. More often than not these will be over $100, but not always.

E.g.

http://luxire.com/products/lilac-small-gingham-by-monti

I have the above, it's lovely and smooth, and only $80.

I think you just have to hunt around a bit.

Can you post pictures of this fabric? I asked before if anyone had this fabric and no reply. Would greatly help me.

Thanks

Anybody got any suggestions for a solid white fabric that isn't see-thru at all. I like to wear undershirts and seeing it through my shirt is a real pet-peeve. I'm looking for something smooth, so maybe in the $100+ range.

I tried the lustrous and didn't like it. Next was the everyday white, but the fabric is a bit rough....although I expected it given the name. I'm looking to find something of higher quality as well.

If you just mean "solid" in terms of colour, try the soft white herringbone. Very soft, very white, not see through at all.

Thank you, lachyzee, althanis and Henry Carter.
Great to get advice on what must be changed.

I will try to shorten the back rise slightly. I also thought the waist was tight enough, but it still slips down a bit. Is it possible to make the elastic tightening function slightly tighter to make sure it won't fall down?

Blue Bengal Stripes and the Pale Blue Poplin 2/100

Bengal stripe fabric is beautiful: makes the tight fit all the more annoying. Pale Blue Poplin 2/100 is nice, though as has already been noted, rather thin and prone to wrinkles.

@luxire, where did all your khaki twill chino fabrics go? I remember that you had a lot of them a while back. I'm especially missing the fabric SR_030_KHAKI. Is there a chance that you'll get more of that soon?

What is the tangible difference between a $60 dollar fabric and a $120 fabric? I've bought some of the $60 fabrics and they appear to be of good quality. Granted, I've never bought an expensive shirt so I don't really have anything to compare it to. When compared against a fabric >$100, what can you expect to be different?
