My main summer project is ordering some madras cloth (sf member dieworkwear is organizing an order) and then having luxire make up the shirts. I'm thinking of having at least one made into a popover.
Burghler, how were you planning on changing the sizing for a popover? A little more room through the waist, perhaps?
I'm also going to be putting in an order for a suit with luxire to wear at my wedding in August
Where might one get in on this ordering of madras?

It was discussed in the Unfunded Liabilities thread a little while ago - basically, pm sf member dieworkwear by next week with the item numbers and yardage you want out of these fabrics. I believe anything with an item code that starts with RC is available. Also note that at least some of them are 44" wide.
@luxire it would be great if you all could offer these sorts of decent madras fabrics yourself - Madras (Chennai) is not all that far from Bangalore if I'm not mistaken

Very cool, care to help a newbie out with how much yardage a typical button down would need?

Luxire told me 3-4 meters for 44" cloth depending on whether the fabric was plain or plaid, though that will maybe vary a little bit depending on whether you're a bigger or smaller person (I'm a bigger person, fwiw).

Luxire provided an update on shoe orders a little while ago, but I'll add my opinions as well. The process started in early February, so we're about 5 weeks in now, and I completed all my measurements about a month ago. I had been waiting to complete the rest of the order, and I sent them a few emails asking about the next steps since my measurements were completed, but the process hadn't really moved along at all. I was hoping to see leather and sole options and things like that.

Then, today I get an email saying my shoes were in production and would be ready in 2 weeks. Say whaaaaat?? I'm glad that they'll be ready sooner than I thought, but I also thought I'd have more input into selecting options and materials. I didn't even see a swatch of the leather they're using until today. Basically, they're making the shoe based on the pictures and descriptions I gave them in my original request back in January. So as long as they follow those instructions, then everything should turn out fine. Still, it would have been nice to be provided a big list of potential options that I could select, along with swatches to choose from. But, this was a super duper cheap first run, and I'm sure they will improve the process for future orders. I shared this feedback with Luxire as well.

Also - regarding those pics I posted here of my pants a few days ago, Theresa said they have a new person starting in 2 weeks who will specialize in determining measurement changes based on fit pictures. So I'll hold off on my next order until that person starts and can help me out with my fit problems related to my pelvic tilt and bow legs. I'll provide some more updates once I get that feedback from Luxire.

Thanks for the update. Look forward to seeing the finished product and hearing your thoughts!

chuckb and ff, I ordered with long sleeves and a little more room through the waist to slip on/off more easily. Actually it should be basically the same as this one from NMWA (minus the fully handsewn part and with chambray rather than linen) http://instagram.com/p/lP7y8SjUzz/

Linen lovers: This probably makes our's the biggest collection of linen available. Added today some nice collection of Colors, stripes, checks, end-on-ends, prints and more.

Order this weekend and get 20% off. Use code: FRESH_NEW_LINEN
