One other thing I forgot to mention.
I was told that Zeiss (Claret/Individual?) and Hoya are the only people making 1.74 index lens that are free-form which is supposed to be better. Whether it makes any real difference in real world applications, who knows.

So I just bought some glasses from a place that doesn't bill insurance.

I'm under my old man's insurance, and this place was "off network." They sent the paperwork to the insurance company and told me that I should be getting a reimbursement through the mail. Is this guaranteed?

I bought a pair of TF Connors a while back as my daily beater and to my surprise it was polarized. (I bought it from a reputable sunglass shop here in Palm Beach)

I have a lot of experience with TF, pretty much exclusively buy his sunglasses on looks alone. Yet I have never heard of polarized TF sunglasses, did I get some rare model or something?

They do not directly bill or they cannot bill any insurance companies? Did you pay them already and they sent in the paper work for you?

If it is a semi-rimless it should be polished. If it is a full frame, no polish. Making a polish on a regular v-bevel will cause too much internal reflections inside the lenses.

I don't know anywhere but why would you want to change the bridge size? It isn't IMpossible, but very difficult.

Well, look for a frame with a small lens size but has the temples that extend out a bit and bends back towards the temples. That might help you keep the lens size smaller without looking like you're wearing a children's frame.

The temple length is short but the effective temple length still seems long enough. They can be adjusted but keep in mind that the older a plastic frame is, the more brittle it will become. Also, find out what material it is. Some materials can be more easily adjusted than others.

Yes and no. A free-form/digital lens will give you a better vision even in single vision, BUT you really only really get the best benefits from this design with a progressive/no line bifocal lens. In terms of Zeiss/Hoya making the best lenses, most larger name brands will have well advanced surfacing techniques.

This may be true or it may be an company (optical) policy. The insurance companies are slow to pay the stores and sometimes the patient is approved for $X but when they receive the funds there is a deduction for administration fees/deductibles/so on. It is just easier for the individual to just bill the insurance and be reimbursed.

I'm not a huge fan of the Wayfareres because everyone and their sisters have a Wayfarer but the quality of the build is much better than LUXs version. The small details like how they rounded the end pieces, the way they etched BL on the lenses, the etching of make and model on the temples instead of print and so on. I enjoy the small quality perfections over the actual style.

Was looking at the alder sunglasses from salt optics. But my Asian nose can't hack it. Was wondering if it's possible to add nose pads to the sunglasses. Would this change the look of the sunglasses completely. Has anybody ever done this before. http://www.saltoptics.com/detail.php...id=2&orderby=2 CC can u chime in on this?

Been scouring through the internet to try to figure out who the heck makes the glasses Kevin Hart wears on the Jumpman 23 commercials. No one seems to know. I think here is my best chance. Anyone have any ideas? They might just be vintage 50s glasses but it's hard to tell if these are new or not. I don't want wayfarers! Thanks!
