Thanks, A -- no more of those crappy BB's, eh ;-)? Thanks, N - these are from Leffot - can't quite get into the purple.

These are at least on par w/G&G RTW, I believe.

For this first go around I've decided to go with one of the AS lasts, assuming that Chay believes he can achieve a suitable fit. I'll need something on the narrow side as I have a relatively low-volume foot. EG82-ish if possible.

Thanks! If possible to ever take a direct overheard shot of how the shape of the last looks while looking down at them that would be great. Trying to determine how that last looks compared to some the others in the handgrade line. No worries if now. Wear them well!

On a true country shoe, like a double or triple soled brogue, I don't think it makes any sense--and I would think it was structurally unnecssary. The fiddleback (some of us believe it has real structrual value) is made unnecessary by the added soles. However the suede derby above is not to my mind a "true" country shoe. Though, I am sure, most here would think it not a city shoe either. I gues that is a long way of saying that I agree with your point, fritzl, that it makes the shoe a little less of a country shoe.

But still very nice and something I would definitely wear.
