Teddieriley, I'm going to tell you something ... but don't let it go to your head. Your member name is one of the few that I instantly recoginze. On the other hand ... there is no Ed that comes to mind.

It's just the internet, don't loose sleep over it. I do find the information posted on this forum very useful and has introduced me to brands i'd never heard of. I'm a little more educated on certain clothing thanks to the forum.

Rjman has left the building and that is a loss.

I only read a few posts but I agree that there are many elements of SF that turn off new members and even long time members. Look at the number of guys with amazing clothes that don't bother posting anymore. Many have said they are tired of the stupid comments.

I am getting far more selective in what I read. Many posters who seem to use SF for a dumping ground I just ignore.

I do however enjoy the witty remarks and stylish posts that some people have. I also, from time to time ask questions and get some very good answers.

There are, unfortunately, a few too many guys on here without any style. But, I accept that this is part of the interweb and just don't take it personally.

You have to come to learn about clothes and also about life in general...

I have learned a lot of great things reading the old guard's posts...

Iammatt made me discover Rubinacci , Rjman Delos ,Charvet and the row,Kuro the great world of John Lobb Paris and so on..

Many Sfers are real gents and the level of banter is most of the time superb...

Most Sfers are tactful ,well-educated gents and it is a pleasure to read their posts...

There is also a darker side to SF...Bitterness,pure bile, envy, bullying ,groupthinking and so on...

Yeah, thats one thing I've noticed about some of the responses and general vibe of this forum, it doesn't have the friedliest members. I don't mind the sarcasm but I've seen some members put down other responses....just for the heck of it.

Usually I just try to sift through the sarcastic remarks and put-downs to read the CONSTRUCTIVE feedback, which is my purpose of reading the topics on this forum. Normally I wouldn't remark on such conduct on forums but this topic addresses something that I always had in the back of my mind since I came here.

Anyway, I continue to sift through and comment when I can.....

I think your member name might be part of what attracts the trolls. Before I picked RSS I considered Hermes Simplex as a possible member name. I have a feeling that it would have resulted in some trolling as well.

I've been lurking for awhile and only recently registered and made one or two posts. Why was I a lurker for so long? This site truly has a few assholes that take obvious pleasure in being just that. Funny, I picture them sitting in dirty underwear living in a double wide (not that their is anything wrong with double wides) and taking their frustrations out on others....okay, well maybe I don't really but sometimes it is funny to think about...
Anyway, I have learned a lot about clothing on this site. Since finding SF, I have spent far more than I should on shoes in just a few months. Made some sport coat purchases based on what I learned here and enjoy reading most of what is written.

That being said, there is a whole lot of usefull information on this site and i look forward to taking advantage of it.

PorterInjax, double wides may be ok however dirty underwear is not!
