So we're hosting a baby shower for friends this Saturday. The party is a brunch, and we'd like to serve some booze. And, no, we won't be playing any stupid games or tasting chocolates that look like baby poop. I'd like to make a few pitchers of drinks for 15-20 people.* Bloody Mary's are the obvious choice; mimosas are also pretty obvious. But perhaps you have a better idea. What would you make? Please include a recipe if possible.

*Of course we'll serving something non-alcoholic for our pregnant guest(s).

Americano - negroni with soda. Add a splash of orange juice to sweeten things.

Is it warm where you are? I like mint juleps, mojitos, etc... during warm days. But my favorite of all is the Maidstone

Mojitos are always good. I could also make a not-so-sweet white sangria. I've white sangrias based on pureed green grapes and tart apples. Quite refreshing in the heat.

What's in the Maidstone?

Lynchburg lemonade.

1 part American whisk(e)y, 1 part triple sec, 1 part sour mix and 4 parts lemon-lime soda (lemonade in the UK).

Allow me to endorse gin as a morning drink:

Pimms cup, Tom Collins (with fruit), Ramos Gin Fizz.

This makes it easy to mix up a reasonable facsimile of the classic. Serve in glass pitchers sitting in big bowls of ice.

Sounds masochistic for 20. It's a great drink, though.
