I'm a fashion noob, and looking to buy either a pair of AE or Alden shoes, just wondering if anyone can recommend me a pair of casual shoes to buy?

Thanks

The brown calf on that boot looks much better in person. The Roy Boot with the pull up leather would be a nicer boot and of better value, imo, but some don't like the eyelets or the wide Barrie last. I like both (and am waiting for a Roy). But the Carmel boot on the leydon is a dressier alternative for a plain toe boot.

Yes, darker than the pictures on the website.

Those are beautiful!! I'm deciding whether or not to buy the longwings vs. plain toe, and I think your photos have helped me make my decision!
Would you guys wear these with a suit?

OK, so many of the of the discussions in this (and other) forums take Clark DB's as a point of reference. While I like Clark's, I find them too narrow so have never owned a pair, thus I don't my DB size. I'm looking to pick up a pair of of longwings, and I'm wondering if you all can help. I'm a 10 Nike, a 42 in Paul Smith, and a 9 in certain Red Wings (the Wabasha line). Should I buy a 9 for the Barrie last?

Much obliged.

I am almost surprised at the awful picture they have at the website, the color isn't even close to TTL.

gnatty, is chromexel from JCrew? I am really considering the JCrew Indys.

Also, does anyone know what the "H" means on the sizing? JCrew has some sizes in 9 or 9H but I am not sure if that means wide or narrow.

I think J. Crew only carries D widths so the H means it's a half size.
