My experience with driving shoes like that is that the soles wear down faster than any other type, especially if you do a lot of walking on rough sidewalks, etc., as opposed to indoors on carpets. Problem is, once the nubs are gone, you're kinda stuck. A day a week and you should be fine, though.

I like the pair of SF tan suede driving mocs (no rubber nubs though) I bought last year and often wear them sockless casually in warm weather. That said, I don't really get the idea of summer shoes. I guess linen specs would be summer shoes but otherwise why can't you wear the same shoes year-round. With the exception of lined winter boots, I wear my chukka boots, chelseas, and all other shoes in suede and calf throughout the summer.

- my contribution so far & have another pair to pick up this week (stay tuned), see below. I also love my Tod's.

I have had two pairs of white bucks. I always feel I need to be too careful when wearing them. It takes the fun out of wearing them.

- still deciding to get a pair with red sole for denim

I really like these, and pocketsquareguy's dirty bucks. Where can I find shoes like these online? There seems to be a distinct lack of white shoes on Pediwear...

Shoes that I only wear in summer:

Clark's desert boots
basket-weave loafers

And yes, I also wear sandals.

I think these are my favorite.

That McNairy guy shot himself in the foot by not making his summer shoes available until fall, if anyone will even sell them.

I have a good rotation of bucks, specs, and such, but for casual I wear Jack Purcell's (white). I bought this bastardized driving shoe from Banana Republic a few weeks ago and have yet to wear them (stupid rain)

and will probably grab a pair of boat shoes some time soon. I think the last time I wore them was around age 7, to church.

Buy a Tod's driver without the pebble sole, they have others with a hard rubber sole that are much more tread friendly.

White bucks are for little boys on Easter.
