Lands End sometimes carries some, though, at present, only in their Custom shirt section...

Hey, Bro.!

Good to hear Landsend being spoken about with some respect. If you shop wisely you can shop well there, albeit at a certain level.

Can't wait for this year's Madras selections. You?

Yrs,

Russell.

I have been thinking about a getting a nice oxford cloth spread collar shirt lately. I have one with a point collar (and wear it a lot with tweed sportcoats and woolen ties) but can't seem to find one with a nice spread collar, which I prefer. Is this a custom only thing, a stupid idea, or are there any RTW ones out there?

Regular oxford or royal? Royal with a spreac collar is very nice. Regular sounds pretty stupid to me.

Does it mention oxford cloth? I'm sure Flusser does somewhere. My copies are boxed up in storage or I'd go look

Both regular and royal make for nice club collar shirts.

Just found this thread, talk about sartobabble.

Evidence of the brits selling "oxford cloth", take a look at the Acorn site: http://www.acornfabrics.com/oxford_page.html. I'm not sure that there are many things more English than Acorn.

N&L made me a shirt in the white (50' 2/24, 160 g/m-sq), very decent, though I'd love an off-white to cream to better compliment tweeds. Years ago I bought a tattersal in a far coarser oxford cloth that is a dear favorite.

Interestingly, their Royal Oxford (2/100s x 2/100s, 130 g/m-sq)ooks more coarse; cf. http://www.acornfabrics.com/royaloxford_page.html.

The acorn range also has a royal oxford, though in a different weight ( 115 g/m-sq); cf. http://www.acornfabrics.com/acorn_royaloxford.html.

FNB, Acorn is good stuff, not fancy; very straightforward. I've got a dozen shirts made of the stuff and have never had issues, but I'm not very picky about shirts once the sleeve is pretty much right.
