Most of us accept bribes. I wear a 38 jacket, 30 waist, size 9 shoes...
Hahaha. Well, I guess when it comes down to it, I will take comfort over aesthetics, always. And aesthetics over looking like a highschool emo kid.
[oldman]Buy your damn pants in the right length, hippie/hipster.[/oldman]
Q: How many of these looks would allow the wearer to go virtually unnoticed at an indie rock club, to "blend in", as it were? Just sayin'...
Also, nearly everything posted in SW&D is truly terrible, unless the dude is a teenager or in their twenties, living in a fashion capital, working in a artistic or media profession, or ideally all three.
The most common weakness with this contest was interpreting "MC Does SW&D" as a costume-y mimicing of obviously loud SW&D forms rather than dressing normally as one might in a way intersecting with what the kidz wear. The SW part is not going to happen; the D part might. In the reverse contest, I expect nothing except really terrible things. This is because doing tailored clothes right appears hard for grown men in the first place, let alone children who still live with their parents or in dorm rooms.
I know you know they dont like being called kids ... or being told they live with their parents/in dorm rooms?
There is nothing wrong being a kid or living in a dorm room, and dressing accordingly. There might be something awry with being a man with responsibilities, including being responsible for the welfare of others, and dressing like you have moobs that you want show off.
Interesting how many MCer's choose to dismiss SW&D approved styles as being entirely age inappropriate for themselves. The premise being that once you reach a certain age and have certain responsibilities, then it is only proper for you to wear bland/boring (i.e. non-edgy) clothing for your casual wear just like all the other guys your age do.
This analysis would make sense if diapers were "edgy."
Actually, the analysis holds trued regardless. Basically, and I agree with him, BB1 is saying that rocking the boat is generally applauded in SW&D, and frowned on in MC.
it has become a writhing mess of non-conformity.
Conforming to whose standards exactly? I ask this seriously.
Im not stirring ****, Im really genuinely curious.
