+1 I'm actually really surprised at the turnout. Who knew so many in MC even had denim?

Really, the fact of the matter is that SW&D's aesthetic is antithetical to MC. According to their thread, most of us look awful in our SW&D looks. But the fact of the matter is in 10/20/30 years, MC WAYWRN pics (excluding today's challenge) will mostly still look good. Doesn't anyone remember the 70s or 80s? Or even the 90s? [IMG] I know the SW&D guys love stacking - but I think it looks fucking awful. [oldman]Buy your damn pants in the right length, hippie/hipster.[/oldman]

Though I'm not sure it works, I'm going to give this to Spoopoker just for his sheer audacity of hope. Some guys, like Aeglus, Baron, NYR, TTO, and ArtofTime, seem to be at home in their clothes, which goes a long way.

NOBD's jeans actually look like they are worn on a regular basis, but really (and this is not just for NOBD), actual hiking boots are not a good look unless you are going hiking, in which case, full technical gear is usually the way to go. So, big minus there. Yes, I know that brands like Diemme are really popular right now, but 1) They are based on vintage styles from the 60's or before, and 2) even then, I'm not a fan.

Urban Composition wins in the scowly face category, and Luftvier deserves praise for going out and buying/having the most ridiculous shit. ManofKent looks most likely to be a Bulgarian mob enforcer, so he gets a prize too.

Just a word of advice. Just as SW&D guys should probably not look at Men's no-no too hard, MC guys should stop taking their casualwear cues from the displays in the Domenico Vacca windows. Remember, it's agreed upon that Vacca is a douche.

My avatar, while hilarious, is not meant ironically. My appearance by day belies my musical tastes. I am a huge Black/Death/Thrash metal fan. It's a shame I gave away my bullet belt some years ago, as it would have been apropos. I do appreciate the kudos, though. [IMG]

Damn, wrong choice. Should've stuck with suede monks... No points for the fact that the boots are almost ten years old?

Sorry again that I was not able to participate. I applaud you all for making a good faith effort to play outside your comfort zones. Some great looks in there.

SW&D also offers it's kind thanks for your participation:

wow, nearly all these guys are either fat or hideous or dressed badly or some combination. nyr, moo and aeglus look pretty good, and baron, but jesus, looks mostly like a bunch of upper east side assholes.

    sig worthy from SW&D

NewYorkRanger gets my vote. The clothes fit him just fine, but the post-apocalyptic city fits him best of all.

Seeing Mr.K alone on a couch with a trophy and box of tissues makes me feel dirty.

Q: How many of these looks would allow the wearer to go virtually unnoticed at an indie rock club, to "blend in", as it were? Just sayin'...

i just went through the SW&D WAYWRN thread trying to find some inspiration ... i left with a lot of disappointment. In over 89 pages, i think i saved 5 fits.

really sw&d, really? i am assuming a lot of the guys talking isht about lack of MC style just dont post anymore in sw&d (ala maomao, iammatt etc) else i smell a whole lot of diavolo going on. Maybe i am looking in the wrong thread ... lol.
