Alright, as promised an actual fit.
019pgq.jpg
Number (N)ine / Dior Homme / Raf Simons / Ferragamo (NV) The coat was a complete shot in the dark, but now that I have it I love it, it just flows around me when I'm walking. Gets a lot of looks downtown but I'm okay with that. The silk is pretty delicate, though. FYI, Kunk and Impolyt_one, this is a good example of what I was referring to re: "would wear with sleek black patent leather shoes". I think Imageshack is causing my photo quality to deteriorate noticeably when I upload it. I didn't notice with my crappier old camera, but with this marginally superior one I definitely do. Anyone know of a better way to upload photos that doesn't compromise quality? Anyway, sushi time. EDIT: Before I go, a more head-on angle for A Fellow Linguist. http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/5183/028hfp.jpg

The coat is definitely cool as ****, but I don't think it works too well with your fit. The white shirt / black pants / black shoes gives off a business vibe to me, especially since (at least form this angle) they don't look too extreme in terms of cut. I feel like if the rest of the outfit had more edge then the coat would look less out of place. You should probably undo the top button of your shirt, or tuck it in, too.

Added a head-on angle as I'm on my way out. For me, pants are way too skinny and black to be business-like, shirt has a kind of satin sheen to it, a hidden placket and a detail on the shoulder that is n/v there. Tuck would look dumb, but I have gone without top button done and may tonight. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

Pants fit awesome, shirt likewise but would look better with the top button undone, esp. without the tuck. The coat looks a little big/not all the way on? Looks like its off your shoulder

I agree with this. Even with the front view picture, the pants are slim but nothing crazy. more extreme pants (though the pants you have on look quite nice for another context) would have done wonders for this outfit....

jd_may: really nice. i love that coat and the pants look good too although i imagine the photo doesnt really do them nor the shirt justice. i agree that the top button should be unbuttoned if your shirt isnt tucked in.

Urg. Man, I'm sure there are criticisms to be made, but I strongly approve of every part of that. I'd probably unbutton the top button on the shirt, I guess. But overall it hits right in the middle of my gut level sense of what I like. I like this a lot better than some of your older stuff.

I strongly desire a pair of pants that fit pretty much exactly like those. And I didn't know I wanted that coat before, but I do now.

This is... well, saying it's the best story ever would be blatant hyperbole. But: funny! And a lesson to us all: do not leave scandalous pictures lurking on the camera.

Man, I wish yoox didn't **** up my n(n) jacket order. On the other hand, the **** up did allow me to have the funds necessary to cop Rick leaher so it's probably a wash.

I'm sorry, but with JD_May's fit, I'm getting that "Nice, normal guy vs. haigh-fashun outfit" cognitive dissonance. I think the outfit would work better if he were a tattooed, 115-pound, narcissistic coke fiend with a Hitler haircut.
