18 miles this evening. Power curve for the ride was above all but a sliver of my bests over the past six weeks. I'll take it.

60 min at 8:30 pace. I'm pretty sore too which does not bode well for tomorrow's run:

2 mile warmup
6 rounds of 800m at 7:00 and 800m at 7:45
2 mile cooldown

I'm tempted to start huffing ether from a handkerchief like the Tour de France riders of old.

I ran 3.1 miles on the local gravel trails, after swimming with the kids for more than 2.5 hours.

I also took my oldest downtown to pick up our race packets for Bolder Boulder. He’s pretty excited even if his T-shirt is way too big (men’s medium, as they were out of anything smaller when I registered a few days ago).

20.1 mile gravel ride. It’s really windy out this morning, so anything that was westbound was really hard. Eastbound Oxford Road was the fastest I’ve ever seen it. I topped out at 32 MPH on flat gravel.

Decided to go all in and start racing on the velodrome again targeting the 4k individual pursuit. Nationals is on July 12th and I doubt I'll be fully ready by then but hopefully within the next few years I can win a jersey in some event. My first official workout was today at 4x4.5min intervals finding a good repeat power.

Started off ambitious and faded in the last one or two intervals but think I can target ~440-450w for these efforts. Need to find a more consistent hill too so I don't need to shift as much and change my cadence

I have a friend who races at Hellyer in San Jose. He's frustrated that the majority of the races there are not USAC, and the USAC won't recognize his results to progress through the categories. What's the scene like down there?

Finally got back into the gym my injury the first week of March. My strength and conditioning is way down right now. I'm struggling on 100kg back squat, 35kg snatch, and 70kg clean and jerk. Normally those are light warm up weights before doing my working sets and those weights feel like working sets right now. Hopefully I'll be back to normal in 2-3 weeks.
