Are there any items or styles of clothing that you have 1.) initially discovered on SF 2.) grown to like after some exposure and finally 3.) eventually growing to "dislike" or become tired of following repeated exposure to said item after regularly browsing WAYWRN?

i.e. "______"'s been played out by SF.

Feel free to fill in the blank. I think a good example for me might be knit ties. Hopefully I'll get over it though as I really think they can be part of a great ensemble. I just feel like they've been played out

What do you think?

I agree on the double monks, although I can't really say that I have ever really "got" monk strap shoes to begin with.

Same here, except my dorky high school teacher used to wear them all the time, hence we called them "carpet ties." Don't distress. One day my tie wardrobe will consist entirely of grenadines and knits. It's just for the time being, I've grown weary of seeing them on the intertubes.

I largely stopped wearing them during the frenzy, just because I was tired of seeing them. Now, thankfully, the fad has passed and I'm back to them.

I'm part of the white denim crowd, but I'm thinking that it will join this list very quickly and we'll be wondering what we were thinking.

I went to a brunch today in my white jeans, and nearly half of the people there were also wearing white jeans... the female half.

Still, I am thrilled with them.

Hooold on there just a moment..... I am a new fan of monks..lol I wear a 10.5-11 D (43-44) (or a 12 A, B) If anyone wants to actually throw out what they have tired of; be it their monks, double monks, triple monks, dress boots (or any other style..but no square toe 'duck' shoes) then we need to talk.

Shameless begging? sure why not! Or charge me a token fee, only be merciful, I am out of work. As far as 'played out' ...I haven't been here long enough to qualify to comment. I am enjoying my time here immensely, and learning so much from the masters here. For me, my only frustrations are from knowing I will never get to own the 'upper echelon' of shoes & boots, but it sure is a thrill for me to even see such beautiful creations that many of you enjoy. I share in your joy, and appreciate your good tastes.
