I would go with the tan. I think it has a greater range.

I have a dark green one, which to my eye looks too much like a military surplus item. Great quality stuff so I'll have to wait a lifetime before I need to replace the one I have.

I like tan better. I, too, think of military surplus when I see green items like this.

Another vote for tan. It was the original color of the Filson luggage and nicer looking to my eye.

I've thought about this myself, I always prefer the tan color over the green.

It's very Indiana Jones.

Green. It's a classic color.

Tan shows the dirt more readily.
