Just looked over splattered's photos of the Montgomery's and thought I'd chime in with my thoughts, fwiw (probably not much).

For the price, the quality doesn't look that great at all. Uneven triple stitching, ragged edges on the tongue really put me off. The quality/color of the leather doesn't look that exciting, but then again I am just looking at photos.

As far as the design, it looks pretty bland (then again, I like TBC). The heavily padded tongue and collar look very much out of place, as does the color and tread of the sole.

It looks like Wolverine tried to make a Heritage boot, but included some of their everyday workboot designers on the design team. But, yeah, the box looks nice!

I'll be interested to see what the 1000 Mile looks like up close.

If you can take 5 or 6 photos from various angles, that would be great. What are your impressions of the boot?

$325.00 for the 1,000 mile boot which is made in the USA
The rest are under 250.00

I think that's a fair price considering. If you try to compare them to the service boot or the bowery boot its uncool.
it's a great boot for the price.

As Dave just said. If you want to know about Wolverine boots call him. We've carried them for about as long as dirt's been around. It's rumored that Wolverine has backed off of us a bit so......

the 1,000 mile boot is made in the USA not china.
don't get the 1,000 made in the USA boot confused with the other boots in the heritage collection.

SF discounts are long gone.

Don't sweat the profile. Any lower and it would be a dress shoe. Get these - you won't be disappointed. They're solid without being heavy, the leather is sturdy and supple, and the fit in the toe box is perfect.
