I am planning to purchase a pair of 1k mile original; that's after wearing the Rockford for the past month; love the leather (will post some pix when my wife returns the camera).

i need members' advice. are the tongue on the 1k mile original gusseted ?

the one on the rockford isn't, and it's not rain-proof like RW875 and fracap despite using the same dubbin.

cheers.
Somehow I don't think I ever saw a response to this, and I'm in the same situation. Amazingly, the Wolverine website itself doesn't even clarify if all the 1000 mile original boots have gusseted tongues or not. Anyone?

Ok, I called Wolverine re: the original 1000 mile boot in suede- and it is *not* a gusseted tongue, in case anyone is wondering the same in the future

I own 4 different 1000 Mile models, they all have gusseted tongues up to the middle, where the fast hooks start.

Maybe they don't know what they sell: I own a pair of suede 1000 Mile and they have a gusseted tongue. As a picture is worth a thousand words, here it is:

Sorry for the bad quality of my old iPhone pictures...

Thank you thank you. I should've know that SF should be my first stop for questions. I just called a *second* time- and was told the opposite. But you're right, your photo =1000 words

Does anybody have any sizing (or other) experience with the 135 LTD 1000 mile boots? Are they the same last and sizing as prior LTDs (721, 744)?

I just got a pair of 1000M off ebay, in a UK 9.5. They are beautiful but not comfortable. I usually wear orthotic insoles but they were very tight around the ball/toes with them in. Without the orthotics and with thick socks I am getting a bit of heel slip, and they feel ever so slightly long. The right boot pinches slightly on the top of the foot. They also bulge slightly around the ball of the foot. The width is a D - I am wondering if a UK9 in an EEE width would be a better choice. Does anyone have any thoughts on fit and width? Are the EEE fittings wider at the heel too? Thanks!
