Thanks for the reply. I have one more question: What make certain brand of jeans more expensive than others??

Many different variables drive up the price: selvage seams, the cotton quality the denim is made of, the dying process, the distressing process, whether they are made in a first or third world country, the quality and detailing of the hardware. And finally, the fact that people like us are willing to shell out big money for them. The prices are getting really crazy as of late. Oh, and the only thing really driving up the price of True Religion is the label. They really aren't high quality by any measure.

Yeah, but don't let this turn you off from Levi's. I've seen some good fits with the 514s and 511s, and if you don't want to spend a lot and don't care about selvage, then they're a pretty good deal.

Besides only denim nerds (like us) will be able to tell what you're wearing anyway.

Oh yeah, the shoes. The first shoe looks boxy which is ugly for a shoe that's supposed to be classy. The second shoe looks like it's trying to class up a skate shoe, and it fails in every way (obnoxious tag hanging over laces, tacky checkering, and clunky skate shoe body).

I would recommend looking at Converse chucks or Adidas (sambas, stan smiths, campus, etc). If you really want a skate shoe, look into Nike SBs, but be careful because if you try to get the limited ones you're gonna run into a lot of fakes.
