Netflix remake of SHAFT as a comedic blacksploitation film which was good for a laugh. Featured Richard Roundtree as Grandpa Shaft.Has the smell of being the first in a franchise.

Isn’t that #4 or 5 of an existing franchise?

Gramps Dad and Son make it a new franchise. More so as the son shops at GAP.

On one hand, that's probably true.

On the other, I do appreciate some of the all time classics.

Like the first RoboCop.

First robocop is a quite smart movie underneath the brutality and explosions. Also it mostly uses satire to be smart, so it never risks being silly. Definitely one of the best action movies imo

Dramatically powerful performances and direction make this a insightful study of creative artistic life welded firmly to the process of history. The first half hour is brutal as it deals with vile Nazi historical crimes. Highly recommend.

I watched an interesting documentary on Jack Taylor, who provided bespoke suits for many stars, including Cary Grant and Frank Sinatra. A very colorful figure who gave lots of celebrities sartorial style! "Jack Taylor of Beverly Hills" can be seen on Amazon Prime (I will not add a link as it creates an ad).
