Hi everyone,

I was recently watching classic yakuza movie : Battles Without Honor and Humanity: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima by Kinji Fukasaku (the guy who made Battle Royal).
And the main character wears these thick shirts that look almost like they're made of the same fabric as his suit :

Are wool shirt a thing? Is this a thing everyone's aware but me? I just think it looks super great to be honest, and I was wondering if anyone had the name of these garments so I can look it up further.

The movie is from 1973 if that helps anyone lol

Thanks a lot, sorry for the beginner question you must get loads of these,

Ciao, in the past it was really used a blend silk (which at the opposite of what we usually think is a strong fabric to be worked) and heavy cotton. But, more than fabric, what gives this look is the style of the shirt. The collar applied is really particular: it looks like a peak collar, really used during 30’. Also the back has been created really high, to go over the jacket. The style of the collar right now seems like an Italian one, but longer. Hope to be helpful
