Mussels look great. One of my favorite meals. Cod sandwich sounds interesting. How was it?


both were great. The recipe for the mussels called for water, but next time I'm doing half water and half white wine. The only gripe with the fish was the fact that I used a baguette - it made the whole thing difficult to cut on the plate. I thought a regular slice of bread would be too thin, and I still believe that, but next time it'll be a baguette with the top and bottom parts cut off.

Both recipes were super easy and super cheap.

This looks darn tasty!


It is one of the finest foods on earth. That was a good example too, just teeming with flavors and aromas. The grilled leeks and the yuzu zest, grilled duck, plus the deep broth, to say nothing of the perfect noodles - amazing stuff. I really like it when you get about halfway through a bowl of soba and the soup or tsuyu starts gaining its sweetness, such an awesome food that doesn't try too hard but does a lot. It has an addictive quality.
