I was talking to a friend of mine on Zoom today, and he was drinking a Manhattan with obviously inferior nuclear colored cherries .

I immediately proceeded to order some Luxardo Maraschino cherries for him, as I had neglected to get him a Christmas present this bizarre year. I think this more than makes up for it.

You're doing god's work.

For me tonight I'm working through how best to use this locally made gin with locally, wild occurring juniper. I just made a Hanky Panky, using Noilly, and not bad. Out of Antica but will grab some Monday.

Grapefruit, Roku gin, elderflower, lavender cocktail followed by Sipsmith London Dry G&T. My favorite current gin cocktail followed by my new favorite London dry.

Last Word with Vigilant Navy Strength Gin, a little unusual due to the harissa and fig, but tasty.

Yeah, I’m a big Speedway fan and was a bit skeptical of this particular style mashup and collaboration... But I love both breweries, so took a chance on it. Man, it’s damn good. Blends seamlessly somehow.

We did fresh Tom Collins for sundowners with a local gin that uses all local items for the infusion. I find the juniper a little heavy but great floral botanicals. Went perfect with fresh lemon in the Collins. I then moved onto a Hanky Panky. Two oz of the gin, two of sweet Noilly, .75 Fernet Branca. Eh, not impressed.

Bootstrap Brewing Strapless NA IPA (Longmont, CO)

This one’s pretty solid for a non-alcoholic beer. It’s also the first one I’ve found from a local microbrewery.
