My drink is trash and so am I. Flying grasshopper.
I just upgraded my creme de mentor to tempus fugit, and my creme de cacao to Gifford. And now I’m like, how fo I get rid of this old bad stuff? Well this is the way.
Bro. There is nothing in this post that I don't love.

Pretty sure this isn’t an official cocktail but it should be. No name yet but maybe one of the best things I’ve made. Billaget Thym is amazing.

2oz Bols Genever
0.5 oz billaget thym
0.25 oz green chartreuse
1 oz lemon juice (I think 0.75 might be better)

shake with ice, strain into coupe, add sage leaf (or some other herbs) for garnish really delicious.

Just learning about beers. We’ve been hosting quite a few BBQ’s this summer and I wanted to offer people something outside of the typical Coors Light/Corona junk. Had this today and it’s very nice.

Ommegang is amazing. Try their "The Crimson & The Cooper" cider. Pour it over some rocks, it's sooooooo good. Aged in bourbon casks. Just delicious.

I bought some whisky too, but this got first drink. Good stuff out of Fort Collins, CO (Maxline Brewing Oktoberfestbier). In the background, wild rose hips are drying for tea.

That thym stuff seems really interesting. I worry that it would be overpowering -- I've had a few cocktails with Thyme infusions and the first sip is like 'wow this is amazing' and by the third I was over it. Same with rosemary.

It's very tasty, but I don't think too overpowering. It's also really good just on the rocks for sipping. 0.5 oz in a cocktail lets you notice the thyme but doesn't overpower anything else, but I wouldn't go up to 1 oz. I had two of my above creation, and was tempted to go back for a third. I wasn't getting thymed out. :p I'd say the chartreuse is more intense (more sugary and more intense flavor), which is why i only do 0.25 oz of that.

This one is a fitting way to end summer vacation, given that I’ve been eating wild wax currants while outdoors this summer. I’m not the biggest fan of sours, but Mammoth Brewing has produced a solid one.

Took the last month off from drinking as a little reset from pandemic habits. Ended up being pretty easy, which I guess is good.

Breaking the fast with a single negroni. Yum.
