What are The Best of The Best Corduroy Pants <$400?

I am really interested in corduroy due to its history as work wear and durable yet classy clothing. I was curious what brand/piece is considered the best, the holy grail of cords?

If you are looking for a pair of corduroy workwear pants I’d try the Streetwear & Denim side instead. But I don’t think there really is a single “best” pair.

Rota makes some high-rise cords with button fly+side tabs which you can pickup via NoManWalksAlone [forum affiliate/store] for ~$355. Not sure how they stack into 'best' debate but they're great!

I've got a pair that I'll sell you. Forest green, wide wale, size 38x31 in Lands' End's traditional fit. I got them for maybe $35 but they've since had the honor of being worn by me both as workwear and as classy, so obviously the value has increased. They've also been taken off of me by no fewer than two ladies. Very titillating tales!

I think the corduroy offerings of Brisbane Moss, a British seller, are quite good.
I got one through luxirie and it has been going solid for a few years.
There are some silk-cotton cords have seen for 1k+ prices. Did not fancy those.

I tried quite a few pairs of cords before being content with Brooks Brother wide wale cords. I bought them on sale
for about $80 in navy, grey and brown. Very happy with them.

Spier and Mackay and hertling have good ones. I think they use Brisbane moss. I don’t know if corduroy should ever be bought above $400. Out of all fabrics I feel like corduroy gets damaged faster. Wales flatten from sitting down or resting on a hanger over time and visibly lighten the color in those areas permanently.

Cordings corduroy trousers are fantastic; I think they’re around £120. Very high quality, lots of colors. My only complaints are that they come with a button fly, and the legs are a bit wide. A few bucks at the tailor though and they’re perfect.
