To get back on track ... I share your problem to some extent, as I used to row crew (lots of glutes, doesn't work the upper). Fortunately my naturally broad shoulders help me, so yes, work the upper body, as already said.

I would also suggest concentrating on creating a 'base" around your feet: for formal, wear trousers with cuffs, or for casual, jeans with a straight-leg or slight (but not ridiculously exaggerated) boot cut. Wear shoes that have some substance, more in the English mode than in the long sleek Italian style.

Also, wear suit jackets and blazers with double (or no) vents, so the back will lie flat against your rear. A single vent will create an outward point that just accentuates the ass.
