It's not about teaching kids to skateboard--it's about socializing them. The easy social history of the talibs goes something like 1980s civil war-->Islamist refugee camps in Pakistan-->women are "dirty"--> millennial rule. The more time I spend in post conflict environments the more I value Boy Scouts and recess and all the basic building blocks of community that kids get in settled places.
