I have a piece of wonderfully thick Alpaca dated to 1946 that I am having an overcoat made from this Fall and was looking for some inspiration from you guys, and ideas. My original intent was it to be a bell shaped, raglan shoulder drapey sort of car coat, very androgynous with a Victorian sort of flair in a removable cape piece, but I'm still not 100% sold on this idea. For the most part it will be worn over a simple tee, or a button down shirt and denim with boots.

Here are some images that inspired me:

I was thinking much shorter than these pictures with the cape piece more "closed" than the first few pics, something along the lines of that Chanel Western Poncho in terms of shape, but removable.

However, I was also thinking something on the opposite end, very masculine, Western and sharp, maybe military.

I'd love to hear your thoughts, or better yet, see some more pictures to inspire.

I think something structured might work better for the fabric? Got a pic of it?
