Tan french calf service boots from the first sample sale today. Difficult to capture the color of these on camera, but they're not quite so orange in person.

i'm just curious, do the viberg x styleforum make-ups have the styleforum logo stamped onto the insole like other collabs do?

I better see some Viberg for Styleforum here soon.

Chased down the mail man this morning for these :)

Initial impressions: No surprise here, amazing build quality. Given the nature of CXL, the shoes have already developed some patina just from being handled in the factory, these should age amazingly well. Love the details in the natty cxl, you can see a lot of the characteristics of the leather that otherwise would be hidden with dyed variant. I tried to capture it in the picture, there a good amount of color variation between the different panels and even slight variations in the grain. I can see the leather immediately start to darken in areas where I flexed the leather to assess initial fitment, as well as where the laces contacted the tongue. Echoing what I noticed with my CXL Service Boots, the Derbys have the suppleness of CXL leather, yet are completely different than anything that any of the CXL pieces I've owned from Alden. These things are built like tanks. Something akin to raw 21 oz denim vs something from the 10 oz variety.

My only concern at this point is fitment. I went with my 2030 size (same as Barrie). The Derby fits well currently with medium-thin weight socks, with just a bit of room. However, given that this is not a boot (less support) and I'd probably wear thinner socks, I'm feeling like I could have gone 1/2 size down. Further supporting this is the ability for CXL to stretch and conform to the foot.

Anyways, onto the pics:

How is the fit around your ankles? Curious as the bottom of the eyelets area seem not aligned..I am guessing it is just the angle of the photo...great looking shoe..congrats
