chicago Ron - you sounds like a pretty sweet dude to hang out with. Nailed it right on the head with what the ideal Vegas weekend should look like.

The best $10 you can spend in Vegas, at least imho, is having a beer or a glass of wine on the patio at The Country Club Grill at the Wynn, which overlooks the 18th hole of the golf course, with the monorail far in the background. It's become my little tradition to go there every time I'm in Vegas (esp if I have a little bit of work to do) around 2:30-3pm one day (i.e. after people have cleared out from lunch and well before anyone is comtemplating dinner), get a glass of wine from the bar and sit outside on the patio in the sun. A very pleasant place to do a bit of work and watch the approach shots of the groups playing 18. I figure that I won't pay the $500 needed to play the course, so I might as well enjoy the waterfall and manicured grass from above for 1/50 the price. Also, because of the time I usually go, the staff doesn't care at all if you linger for an hour or more with just a glass of wine or two, as there won't be any more than 1 or 2 other customers.

I actually feel sorry for the poor saps that wander onto the patio to just take a picture or two and spend only a couple of seconds there, when they could sit and enjoy the view for an hour for just the price of a drink.

Also, if you like pizza, I've always enjoyed the pizzas at Spago, but it's hardly a "hot spot" anymore.

You have a great view, people can see you, you have privacy, a safe, and a waitress. ... this is probably my #1 tip for vegas noobs.
+1. Pool parties are great and more let loose than "getting bottles at the club". Cabanas are chill too....i usually like the pool parties like Tao Beach/Rehab though...don't need a cabana really....just go around the pool and splash water at girls and you're in.

I usually do both though (pool parties and a table at some club), just need to knock out for a few hours after drinking in the sun all day. Usually, a good weekend will consist of pool then room service or quick dinner then drinking before hitting up a club. I go to vegas a lot (6-8 times per year) and actually do laid back weekends where I can watch boxing/mma (don't like shows too much ), strip clubs and nice restaurants.

Going to Vegas in a couple weeks as our softball team goes to Vegas for a tourney the same weekend in April every year. Every year we have way more guys than we need for the tourney. Of course it just so happens that this year we don't have extras and I was really planning on telling the team that I won't be playing. But it looks like I'm going to have to play and one of my best friends who I rarely see as he lives in Phoenix will be there, so I was planning on meeting him and his friends and spending that Saturday at Rehab.

I wouldn't recommend Rehab anymore to be honest. Towards the end of last year it was getting stale and the security got way beefed up.

I think Wet Republic and the new pool party at the Aria hotel are going to be better. Rehab is too much of a guido-douchebag crowd.

I second that... except if you haven't been to HRH since the renovation, they tripled the size of the pool, and it looks AWESOME

I got two weekends this summer at the HRH booked in July and in August...so I'll go to rehab twice I guess......I booked the casino tower, I like it better than the new paradise towers since you can open the doors up.....they had a promo on twitter a while back, I got both weekends....$50 a night for the room on the weekend. Incredible. haven't seen the new pool yet.....looking forward to hitting up other pools, especially the one at Aria.

If anyone goes for Breakfast, you have to get the sourdough waffles and chicken. I washed it down with absinthe. The Buchon Bakery is another must. It's in a different location.

Haha the joke is on me. Got my travel details today and I'm on the first flight out of Seattle on the 18th, and the last flight back to Seattle on... the 18th.

Looks like I'm hitting the ground in Vegas, working 8 hours, have about 3 hours of free time, and heading back to the airport. Back to work the next morning!

I would recommend the private pool at Mandalay Bay.

Went to Carnevino and the Sushi restaurant in the Wynn...

Both were alright at best.

I prefer the Rhino, if it's off-peak hours.
