Varvatos and Marc Jacobs suits

Hi has anyone owned the slimfit marc jacobs suit or the Varvatos linen suits?

I have the option of acquiring either for a good deal (70% off) but on a $1600 price tag, I'm still uncertain.

In any case can someone fill me in on, construction, fit, material etc.

For MJ, it also depends if it is mainline Marc or "Marc by Marc." Mainline Marc items aren't Borrelli or Attolini, but for major designers, his quality is quite good. All of my MJ mainline items are made by Gibo, which is one of the best RTW clothes-makers out there (they also make for Chalayan, Galliano, and until recently, Viktor & Rolf).

Not that I'm familiar with MJ suits but I'd like to know where to find a $500 rtw suit that's better than a $1600 MJ one. I just think of Banana, JCrew, and Club Monaco when it comes to that price range. And again, I'm not familiar with the quality of any of those brands.

I am talking about a Marc Jacob collection not the Marc by Marc Jacob. I assume that is what you guys mean by mainline?

Rach2jlc, how is the fit on the suits.

PS the MJ is not a linen suit, the Varvatos is.
