Growing up as a teenager in the 80s, cuffs and pleats seemed cool, and flat-front pants sooo old-man-70s. Now I prefer flat-front uncuffed.

I'd get cuffs on a very lightweight fabric that needs the heft of a cuff to weigh it down, maybe, and I certainly won't get cuffs on my single-pleat semi-formal pants.

The 'usual' mags may be totally cuff-less, but I see quite a few cuffs (of considerable width) on the Sartorialist blog.

I am eagerly awaiting the day they do away with Pleats. I have stopped cuffing my trousers for now, however, I have a nice tweed suit that I may cuff the trousers on. Anyone seen the Jos A Bank sale? Too bad 97% of the suits have pleated pants

Last thing I want is double forward pleated trouser to add 20 lbs to my already overweighted frame...

oh, and I have no preference on trouser cuffs, but I have yet to find my personal preference in cuffs turn-up height. 1-1.25" is too little...

The magazines are already out of date.

I personally thought we were in the midst of another Apparel Arts influenced revival. Trouser cuffs are a big part of the 1930's Apparel Arts doctrine. Turn ups were initially made popular by none other than the Duke of Windsor himself. That's why I'm so surprised to see the lack of cuffs.

Or could it be an English influence? Even though turn ups were exported to the US from England, they are rather unpopular in the UK.
