EVENT: 20-year High School Reunion; Charleston, SC ...

Off-white Linen blazer
Light pink shirt (no tie)
Light brown leather belt
Navy Blue Linen slacks
White bucks (no socks)

So, way too much color? Or, perfect summer-style for Charleston? Thanks!

Perfecto!, color-wise but the brown belt gives me pause. Generally shoes and belt should match but with the white bucks/white belt combo(Full Cleveland) being a bit too much, choosing a belt has always been problematic for me. Some wear a grosgrain belt(drawing from a secondary color component) to complement the outfit. That's your decision to make. And, I would wear socks and a pocket square(matching?).

A few grosgrain belts from Paul Stuart

What's with everyone wanting to go without socks recently? Is this a Thom Browne influence or do you people just want your feet to be chafed? Yes, "you people."

I'm going to be the contrarian and say that a pastel torso and white shoes interrupted by navy blue slacks would look odd. Visually unbalanced.

Also, I don't think going sockless is a good idea for any event more formal than a backyard barbeque with close friends; in any case, bucks are too substantial a shoe to pull off that look well.

I like it. Today I wore cream colored linen/cotton pants, a pink polo, a white belt, and white shoes (Pumas, unfortunately I don't have white bucks or spectators which would have been great but they still looked ok). I was thinking that this would have been the perfect occasion for a white blazer. Although maybe that would be too much white. In any event it will definitely make a statement.

If I could change a few things:

Wear a shirt with a fairly wide stripe shirt - light blue and white would be my preference to go with the trousers. If pink is IT, make it very, very pale pink. And try to get the stripe for that also. How about a light raspberry stripe?

I'd chose a lighter blue for the casual linen pants.

The white bucks without socks are perfect..
