In a not-so-funny way, this thread makes me laugh because of the irony. Really, why is there this expectation that we much be *taught* things? whatever happened to learning this for ourselves?
Heck, most things listed so far can't even be taught, or at least, you'll learn more the first time you experience it than you'll learn through a hundred lectures.

I guess I was thinking more other people. I had to learn several the hard way. I see my sister-in-law oblivious to it all, until recently when she got into the real world and had bills to pay. Good point though, syl.

I've recently been wearing two watches just like in the 17th century. Unfortunately, the other watch now needs its mainspring replaced.
