Also, I agree with ya @Find Finn. Birthstones and horoscopes are a huge joke but ****, I know she wants that ******* sapphire necklace.

Good thing she was born in September. I happen to like sapphires and was born in september, so I think birthstones are sweet.

If I was born in whatever month has peridot, I'd probably think birthstones were a stupid idea. The tourmaline/opal month would suck too...two different stones, both of which can take on very different appearances or be a range of colors...how is that supposed to promote any sort of birthstone "unity" in the way something identifiable like a sapphire/ruby/emerald would?

The one I have needs to be take apart.

Mine comes apart...but all of the pieces go in the dishwasher. So if gome's method doesn't work, everything just gets tossed in the machine.

and I only use it for things that I can't/won't do with a knife. Not going to cut basil for pesto by hand...or cut cauliflower down to a rice-like consistency...the time savings more than makes up for the extra washing time.

I never use the slicer discs though...can't see how those would save enough time to be worth it (especially most things still have to be trimmed with a knife before being fed through the slicer).

Still better than the slap-chop though...commercials are all like "look how easy it is, just throw these things in here and slap" without explaining exactly how you come upon quartered tomatos, carrots that have been peeled and cut into 2-3" pieces, and onions that have been peeled and pre-cut.

I really don't understand the terminally ill woman's decision to publicize her suicide.

They cover that in freshman algebra.

I don't get why anyone would buy a supermarket freezer section pie over a normal fresh pie from the bake goods section.

Instructions say you have to bake it for 60-70min then you have to wait 2 ******* hours before consuming.

Thats over 3 ******* hours of baking and waiting just to eat pie.

You actually follow the directions about waiting time after baking or nuking something? Scalding the inside of your mouth because you're too gluttonous to wait is half the fun.

It takes longer to clean a food processor, than it takes to cut it with a knife.

I generally agree, when it comes to cutting and chopping. But if we're talking about making pastry dough -- which is definitely more fun and satisfying to do by hand - using the food processor is definitely faster when you include clean-up time.

Easy there, @Kid Nickels
. We should be honored that a legendary member of Styleforum quoted our posts.

I'd think the novelty would have worn off. Pio quotes you all the time.

I don't even know what your point is and to further imply some nexus between knowledge of a subject and sexuality is not only unwelcome, but certifiably ignorant. Let me clarify for you who is apparently slow on the uptake. The OP mentioned his girlfriend "let it slip, that sapphire is her birth stone". My comment was made under the assumption that he would almost certainly know what month her birthday was and could then proceed to Google to look up the birthstone for that month. I think it reasonable to assume her birthday is not a state secret or classified info... got it there Lady ****-nuker?

And we all know what ASSuming makes you right @Kid Nickels

Girls, girls. You're both pretty.

I have never had any desire to be "Pretty" in the eyes of SF and I sure as hell don't want to be placed in any category that includes kid nickels
