1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

    No.

Shrimp and grits is Lowcountry cuisine, not Southern. It is also not "white." The Lowcountry is just as populated by descendants of freed slaves as it is European white folks.

Fish and grits is a Southern thing, which is why Outkast mentions fish and grits, not shrimp.

Who do you post on Styleforum as? Next to your post it does not say patrickBOOTH, so I am confused now.

Piob, this is for you. From a text on the history of Korean public finance we're producing in preparation for some conference or another.

Quote: The emphasis is in the original text.

(also, some social welfare systems probably do accomplish this. The one in question clearly doesn't and wasn't designed to)

There's this guy who works at my company. He's a lawyer, probably makes a ton of money and looks like he is seriously 100 years old. He uses a walker to get around and even using the walker it takes him hours to get like 10 feet. On top of this is goes out to eat every day and seeing him walking all decrepit in the lobby literally makes me want to kill myself. Why doesn't this dude just retire? He looks like he is struggling just to breathe.

All his friends are dead so he would have no one to talk to.

He doesn't talk to anybody now because everybody is afraid that he is the Crypt Keeper.

His job is probably the thing keeping him alive and he likely knows it. So many people retire and then promptly die.
