True. I had my wife help me with my Bitmoji so it's pretty accurate.

If people don't post in WAYWRN I assume they dress like **** and are just here for the intellectual discussion like me.
Thinking about posting my Bitmoji in the sports coats and jeans thread

About 90% of my basic training unit were between their junior and senior year of high school.
Its like....yes i know many of the enlistees wont pan out and of the ones who do the military offers career and life advancement that might not be otherwise attainable. But at the same time its hard to not think how young they are to potentially give up their lives. And i know this isnt a new or profound thought but sometimes things hit you more than they do at others....

I considered applying to the USNA, but being such a liberal ***** I probably would have been eaten alive. (Or maybe the Navy is the perfect place for a liberal *****.) Also I don't like waking up in the morning. Speaking of, @brokencycle how did you survive?

Honestly it wasn't terrible. I think it is because it was so early, but literally the day I left, I was back to my normal schedule.

I actually went through the whole process for the acadamies, including being nominated by a senator and my house representative, but it wasn't meant to be.

People I have known to come out of the military after knowing them before they enlisted were very changed people and not in a good way. It seemed to remove their personalities completely, even those who never saw war. On the other hand folks I know who have come out of the Navy seemed to retain who they were. I don't know if that has anything to do with the culture rather just an observation.

By “military” do you mean the Army? Because the Navy is usually considered part of the military.

Dat concept of sprezzatura is responsible for all this ****. You’re supposed to apply your affectations without being aware that it’s an affectation. So naturally, you can’t admit to being into affectations either. What departed SF member can we blame for this ****** state of affairs?
