Our son graduated from HS this year and he's getting ready to serve a mission for our church. He's had a bit of a falling out with a couple of his long-term friends (long story) and we've had a couple of conversations about why it's not actually that big of a deal. It's sort of a comfort for him to know that he's probably not going to spend any significant time with these people in the future so it's just as easy to keep the peace and move on. Reading everyone's replies here just reinforces that fact.

As long as he doesn’t forget who they are when they die...

My favorite classmate story was a girl who later in life busted her boyfriend out of jail by picking him up from a prison farm with a helicopter.

Tell the truth, who on reading this immediately went to Google and typed in “jailbreak prison farm helicopter”?

Spoiler Alert: Apparently this is a very popular thing in France for some reason.

It was this one, wasn't it, @Numbernine?
The name is not who I remembered it to be but the same story was going around at a high school reunion in the 80s .That class was all pretty much born in 1945 so in !985 40 years old would be right.
