Just so you guys know what I'm dealing with, here's an actual conversation with my landlord from a few months ago:

Me: "The sink is leaking from both the garbage disposal and the trap on the other side. Can you send someone to take a look at it?"

Her: "Can you be more specific about the origin? Please investigate where the water is coming from and the amount it's leaking"

Me: "It's coming from the joints on the left side and directly from the garbage disposal on the other side"

Her: "So is the disposal dripping or is the drain line leaking?"

Me: [sends a video showing the disposal dripping]

Her: "I can tell nothing from this photo. Is it a drip or a constant flow? Is the disposal working?"

Me: "It's a video. The disposal drips when water is poured down. It's coming from the disposal. On the other side it's coming from the P-trap."

Her: "What's a P-trap?"

Me: "The curved pipe under the sink. Please send a plumber. I'm not qualified to diagnose the problem."

Her: "I have to tell them the problem so they will be equipped to fix it. I did not ask for a diagnosis. Again is the disposal running? Please run it and see if water drips directly from it."

Me: "I sent you a video showing water dripping directly from the disposal."

Her: "The video shows only the disposal. I see no drip."

Then my wife jumps in because I'm at my wit's end.

Wife: "The p trap is leaking under the left sink. The garbage disposal appears to be the source of the leak in the right sink. The disposal is still running, but does not seem to be working at full capacity."

Her: "I will order a new disposal but you will have to go pick it up to have it there when the plumber comes."

(Should have said no to that. Not my responsibility. But she wore me down.)

Yeah every time I listen to Morrissey/The Smiths other than "This Charming Man" and like two other songs I'm like **** this is some stupid-ass pretentious **** and I hate it. Two hours later I finally listen to something else.

yeah you just need to move out. I don't know if your state has a consumer's bureau or whatever but feel free to report her. There's no reason to put up with that.

This is another reason why I want to consult a lawyer. I want to break the lease without being on the hook for another 8 months' rent.

The way this conversation should have went:

Me: "The sink is leaking from both the garbage disposal and the trap on the other side. Can you send someone to take a look at it?"

Her: "I'll send someone to take a look at it. When are you free?"

I usually type "sty" and hit enter to get here. I'm used to the URL autofilling. When I forget that I cleared the cache and type "sty"and hit enter I get to see this guy:

I really dislike this dude. I don't know if it's the beanine with the bill, that goddamn necklace, the molester stache, the way his neck is the same width as his head or the creepy stare. Why you staring at me with that nasty sty, bruh? Damn.

So today, after the sister in law and her family leave, Father in law wants to sit down and talk. (MIL Popcorns.)
- we had a family brunch. first time i've seem Grammy since O.G passed.
Anyway. .
He raised the topic of my son's development. That my son is not as good as my wife was at the same age. Academically.

In my head:
f5c36e61bda13fa86f3bdc1fa55b12a8.gif

How so?
-He can't write well. and your wife is busy. can't you spend time with him, and learn Japanese with him?

Now you listen to me. My son has his own problems. sure, you raised 2 girls to both become Nurses. but i know as a teacher that girls will sit down and study.
My boy is a whole different animal. And both your daughters hate you.
My boy looks different. has a speech impairment, (That he is getting help with) And in his head? He doesn't know what words belong to what language.
He is fighting. and as a father, my job is to help him.
I have had other teachers test him for weak points.
The only weak point he has is too much to process.

He is processing. The wife and i let him.

She is a left brainer, i am a right brainer. we are polar opposites. But we hope he will be something a mix of us.
Our boy can be what he wants. as long as it pays his bills.

Mother? Bookworm. writer. medical . Brought thousands of people into the world.
Father? Thrift Vader.

Dipshit. My son will shine. he just has a lot to digest at the start.

Trying to tell a teacher how to raise their son is pure arrogance. A line in the sand has been drawn.

He did not wave us goodbye.
he retreated.
**** that guy.
My boy will not even consider tests. he'll just do them. there are better things to focus on.
And he'll pass.

I would have walked away right there. I know you’re nice thrift and friendly and love to have conversations but we live in a different world these days. People and places and society are much different. He was probably told what a ****** job he did as a parent but that tradition stops there. You have enough pressure to perform and don’t need any other influences to point out shortcomings.
My inlaws too see issues with all of their grandchildren. They had difficult issues in raising their own and had situations like yours. They know to keep quiet because we are doing everything possible to raise our children how we see fit and let the kids enjoy childhood.

Nah, he's a career salaryman. went through private university. Has no idea how hard it must be for my son.

Blames it on me.

I tried to talk on "Mulltiple intelligences" and EQ.
MIL caught it. My son will be balanced.
I can't write good. whatever. But my wife can. and helping him with that is her job.

Wife was outside the door, crying. as i stumbled to defend my family in a 2nd language.

FYI? Wife could not speak 2 languages at 5. my boy is fine. he is overwhelmed. so i focus on his EQ.

Thanks @jcman311 it's all hard, we just gotta keep the gloves up.
