curious what the upcharge for shark is? I've been looking for a unique grain leather
Maybe more than cordovan, but not much more. Their shark-- at least what they've done for me-- is quite soft and fine-grained relative to what I've come to expect. Comfy in the summer.

his flaps are closed completely. We're going to have to agree to disagree here.

Yes, even with my thickest sock, they are nearly closed. I have pads ready to go if needed...no heel slip though. I may stay up a half size on Vass P2 boots, but will try F next TTS.

For comparison, Vass and Alden with the same sole measurement, but the instep is obviously quite different.

Kangaroo is a highly underrated leather perhaps due to its visual subtlety and rareness.
I rate it above shell cordovan for rugged elegance. It's a resilient leather that you don't have to pamper but still looks exquisite in any situation.

Unlike the Italian processed kangaroo leather, this Australia tanned kangaroo is a little thicker, more resilient and from my point of view, more characterful.

How does it handle rain/salty snow? These are from Vass?

Looks strikingly similar to calf, although have heard about its strengths. Has Vass started carrying the Australian tanned skins?

My apologies for the confusion guys, I sourced the Australia tanned kangaroo leather myself here in Australia.
The boots were then built by Vass using the kangaroo leather I obtained. I can get more if anyone is interested.

I can only speak about the kangaroo leather I sourced. It is incredibly resilient and shrugs off urban grime, mud and torrential rain without fuss.
What surprises most I think is its soft and supple hand.
