Brothers, I am going to drop off some footwear for Corey Hiltz in Barrie to repair.

Here is my review of him:

He just found out today he won 2 silvers at an international shoe repair competition in Netherlands. He is also a silver medalist at a North American competition.

He is the only GTA based cobbler to win at either competition.

As a service to this thread, I am happy to drop off and pick up repairs for anyone else who is interested. I am going anyways. No charge.

I do live in Mississauga, so you will have to come meet me (McDonalds parking lot).

Corey does require upfront payment. So every one will have to speak to him, and arrange payments. I am only doing drop off and pick up, so people can save on shipping.

Please PM me if interested. I plan on going sometime this fall.

Gents, I am heading to Barrie either Nov 11, or 13. If you want to me to drop off your footwear with Corey Hiltz, please PM me asap.

Fellas......anyone use Creeds dry cleaners? I want to have my overcoat cleaned properly and by a place who knows what they’re doing. However, I’ve also learned a that paying more doesn’t get you more. They charge $90 to clean a coat.

Are they really worth the $$$?

Any input is appreciated!

You are paying for the location and fancy coffee shop set up. They are good but they are also dry cleaners just the the rest of the good ones with a fraction more $$

I took a Margiela knit to Creed's once. I went to them for this specific piece because they do their dry cleaning in house (at least, IIRC) so there's some sort of accountability there. I also didn't want to risk it getting lost on the way to a third party location.

They did a good job and I was satisfied with the service I got. I don't live in the city, so I've only used them that one time - they are pricey, and it's a bit of a mission for me to get to them. I otherwise use a local place in Mississauga for my suits and lined trousers.

There's a place near Don Mills/Eglinton that I heard is reputable, but their name escapes me right now.

I've used LoveYourLeather in Etobicoke a few times (ironically, never for leather)
Their online reviews seem to be "great service" or "i want to stab the owner and burn the place to the ground". No in between

I will be heading into downtown Toronto at some point this weekend (I haven't decided which day as of yet). If you need help dropping off your shoes to @suitforcourt, let me know.

I am scheduled to be downtown TO (Eaton Centre area) all next week. So if someone wants to drop off their shoes, let me know.

PSA: Tom’s Place in Kensington has lots of stuff on deep discount. I went in to check out their Corneliani shirts advertised as 5 for $64. I only found 2 I wanted, so I had to pay $15 each.

Wow. And I thought I got a good deal at $25 for a shirt, a few years ago.
