I am getting a subtle green tartan dinner jacket. What style shirt and pants so i get?

I was under the impression that the rest of the ensemble doesn’t change. So you’d still have a Marcella/pique shirt or pleated bib and black pants with a grosgrain line going down the leg

You both look stunning! May I ask why you opted for brown shoes instead of the traditional black?

Well, I mean, @acconrad is theoretically right but as long as you're getting it made you might as well get a pair of trousers in the same fabric, right? You'll probably end up wearing it as a separate with a smoking jacket or velvet DJ or something like that most of the time but hey, when the day comes when you want to go full-bore tartan dinner suit and really get the party started, you'll be ready.... Hell while you're at it, might as well toss in a semiformal waistcoat. You never know....

I think I speak for everyone when I say, holy smokes that's a beautiful jacket man. Everyone's probably looking at the magnificent bride but on this sausageforum, we're all looking at you, sir!

Not getting it made! From Spier and Mackay. I think they may sell the pants as a separate. I was kind of kicking around the idea of a DJ for when I go to the symphony and **** and then I literally got a formal invite one hour looking after their FW preview so, you know. It is kismet.

Fairly certain that isn't the most Superb of lords.

Entirely certain I hate that choice of footwear...which is a shame because everything else (minor niggles with the pants notwithstanding) looks amazing

in the second and third pics it looks like the bow tie and trousers are a dark brown...so I can see how someone might gravitate towards a brown belgian loafer here
That's what I thought too. Wearing black shoes with brown tie and trousers would look slightly off to me.
