Does anyone know what is the right thing is to wear to a formal event at the Holly Jolly Mocha? I was going to wear regular black tie since that is the usual dress, but I thought white tie might be more appropriate since women will be present (an archaic rule these days, I know, but not everyone acts like a palooka).

Also, the vest came out mint. Soaked it in warm water with oxy-clean overnight, then rinsed it this morning and soaked it for another 8 hours.

Have it hanging in the boiler room to dry now, and I'll iron it tomorrow.

Nice! My pique bow tie is getting some serious yellowing at the corners. I'll have to try OxyClean.

It's the day time equivalent. Why the heck is this statement getting everybody's noses up? Sheesh.
As other thing, is not relavant in this thread. This thread is about black tie (dinner/evening cloths). Discussion around white tie would be relevant IMO as some events will call for white tie optional/black tie, so the affinity, but you should not go to an evening event wearing any form of morning wear, unless you are trying to be some form of dandy, if you wear inappropriate formalwear at events were it is not call for and/or you WILL be the only one standing out, and that is the opposite of having a formalwear code (uniformity and appropriateness).

You originally said "Strollers are black tie." That's patently false and very different than saying they're the daytime equivalent of black tie. It could also be very confusing for novices reading this thread.
