Hey Darkmatter, please read the private message I just sent you. It's not clothing related.

Is this a joke? Is Styleforum one big, elaborate hoax that exists to make me freak the hell out over a saxophone that doesn't exist? Are you Ashton, and am I on Punk'd?

That thing is amazing. If I had Dig's Gif-placement skill, I would litter my post with clever moving pictures. If I were Andro, I would place tiny little rock-out emoticons in ten consecutive response boxes. But I'm me, so I'll just say (and I'm sorry if there are children present):

HOLY ******* ****

So now, I know this is gauche, and everyone has their reasons for not disclosing sums, but since this is way out of my price range (and as I said before, I have a beautiful Selmer Mark VI that is currently sitting in my closet, begging to be played), what did you pay for this model of modern machinery? If it was under $100 bucks, I might have to drive up to PA just to have you punch me in the face.

Send this to these guys: http://www.saxquest.com/default.asp if you want to go the consignment route. Or I could just trade you my wife and dog.

Under $60, I'll PM you my address for the whoopin' LOL

One wife is enough, what kind of dog?

BTW Selmer Mark VI =

Some great stuff is being posted here lately. eazye and TyphoidJones are turning up cool stuff reliably, as is DM7 (goes without saying) and several others. It's been pretty dry for me at the thrifts, though I've had a few good scores, including my best ever clothing find in my size.

Incredible leather suitcase, unknown maker (found alongside a made-in-Italy clothing valet, which I'm also really enjoying):

Minty Southwick double-breasted seersucker jacket, 6-on-2, fits great and is the perfect shade:

And my favorite, a recent (or, not ancient) Oxxford silk SC, navy with horn buttons and a wine and yellow windowpane, $3 on my birthday:

Are you certain it's a Conn, not a Buescher? Also, while it's a good find if it's in working order and you play, stencils really aren't worth much.

Also, atljon - if you don't play that mkvi anymore, I'm in georgia at the moment and would love to take it off your hands. :)

Definitly Conn, has the mercedes guard and marked with an "L" rather than "Low Pitch", like Buescher would have.

Mark VI alto, lacquer is at 97%, detailing is sweet as hell. Serial 118,176. I think I bought it for 3,500 12 years ago. I just dusted it off, and it plays just like it did when I was playing it to death in college -- I, however, got quickly discouraged at how much I suck and quickly put it away. Music journalism is an all-consuming beast, it seems. But it's time to get back on the horse. Wes, you've inspired me!!!! (After I meet these pressing deadlines, of course.)

Since it's not worth anything -- let's say $100 shipped plus those lug-soled Aldens I picked up a while back that should make you some money on ebay.....

Reposting the pics. I took them at a friend's apartment, and thought that they had some of his personal information in them. Turns out, it's fine.

^^^ This suitcase makes me want to stop polishing shoes and flip my damn desk.

DM7, are we talking actual Loro Piana SC, or loro piana fabric?

If so, I would certainly include a picture!
