Picked this up at the flea market for $15, can’t help but wonder how some of this stuff ends up where it does. Gotta love a quick 10 bagger

Got this in an internet auction a few weeks ago. 50’s horsehide worn to hell and back.

guys is Ledbury completely dead in the water?

I didn't have signal in store earlier to check, but picked up a nice plaid linen number. eBay comps are really low! But are there any safe ones to pick up?

Also anyone recognise this emblem?

More wayward arts and crafts.

Found a cool piece of pottery, appears handspun and incised/decorated. Perhaps native American or native American inspired? iDK what do you guys think?

Paid more than I'd have liked to at $46 (half-ish off the old price sticker lol) but then I really like the shape, inscribed circles and the glaze. Not sure how I feel about the Eagles themselves but they are growing on me.

pot looks to be American raku , as noted it's earthenware and so will not hold water

Interesting. I had some Japanese slip cast raku, this looks much different.

is a bit like American mingei in that respect , the concept is somewhat nominal .

the American version of raku typically involves chucking hot ware into a container filled with flammable wadding and then putting a lid on it ... without fresh air the oxygen reduces and gives you that smoky iridescence and lurid colors . sometimes they use horse hair for kindling , etc .

it's all low-fire non-functional so for me anyways it would have to be pretty spectacular , I've only ever bought the one piece .

if you see that type of surface along with the blackened bottom it's a pretty good bet it's studio raku . I don't know much about the Japanese wares tbh .

Today was garbage due to memorial day half off day so the store was rammo. Don't want to think what I missed, but these are cool.

Not pictured; corneliani shirt, white lululemons.

This is nice, 34mm and 16 or 17mm lugs. Proper vintage size with great patina. Just need to get it cleaned up and a nice strap on it.

Thanks, I'm going to have to look into this a bit more, unfamiliar. The inside looks darkish from memory so that all makes sense. Kinda grey to charcoal but all the finger grooves are in there. The shape is better than that indicated in the photos fwiw, kind of distorted/distended.

I have become more selective on the pottery/earthen wares but still grab something I admire for the form.
