I see that Ebay publicly reveals watcher counts on auctions now (at least on ebay.com, european ebay sites don't seem to have this yet). They did this for Buy it now listings a while back, which is understandable. But for auctions this isn't right. Not a good change for e thrifting. People are gonna get alot more anxious to bid when they see those watcher counts rise. Plus it removes alot of the allure and excitement that comes from thinking you're the only one that knows about the auction. The drama of that last minute clash from a mystery bidder whos gate crashed your auction you've been staking out, thats gone now. Good for auction based sellers though I guess.

Thrifting has been abysmal in the area that I live. I have gone out most days but have been finding nothing every time. I’ve even run into some teens that throw every single item into their cart, just so you can’t look through the rack. They then go to a corner and look through the stuff.

Though I've never done this I don't blame them, I mean you do get to try on the clothes at most stores if I'm not wrong. Maybe it catches their eye and they want to keep shopping before deciding whether to keep it or not. It would really only piss someone off if they're there to resell, I don't see a problem with it.

@rokor I think you missed the point but I was meaning teens as in reselling teens. They were just grabbing literally everything off the rack and carting it so they can go sort through it to see what they want to keep to sell, not just shopping for personal. Either way people can do whatever they want but the etiquette there is pretty fucked up.

I definitely didn't miss your point, I just disagree with your argument. Either way, good job for them. I was too patient when I was starting out so I probably missed a lot of things by going through items one at a time. There really is no etiquette for reselling thrifted clothing, it's competitive at it's core.

You did miss his point because you can NOT try clothes on in any stores now,so they are just hoarding and looking through to resell

Ya you’re right in that sense. Competition and scarcity is what brings out the worst in people. That’s where you and I differ in our opinion. I can still shop and find good things without going on with those kind of antics. So we’re not supposed to be checking items and looking at each label one at a time to see if it’s a good item? I guess it’s common practice to just grab every single sweater off the rack and cart it so you can determine if you have a diamond in the rough.
