Took a flier on a vintage Hitachi receiver yesterday for $7. It had a ton of gunk built up on it, but when I plugged it in at the store it lit up, so I thought what the hell. Got it home, hooked it up and it works like a champ. Plus it sounds/looks a million times better than the all black late 90's pioneer home theater monstrosity that it replaces. Still not the Marantz I'm looking for, but this will more than suffice until that comes along. It also cleaned up really nicely.

Hitachi made some really great quality gear. I can't even remember the last time I found decent stereo gear at the thrift. I used to come across pieces now and then but it's been extremely dry here. Congrats! It doesn't take long to amass quite a collection...

Vintage audio/stereo gear, is just sexy. Love watching the needle displays twitch back and forth.

Anyone else play this as a kid? Found a while back but just got around to photographing it. eBay shows lots of love to the classic board games.
This game all day long, along with Fireball Mountain (which, oddly enough are both very sought after on the other site). My grandmother had both of these games, and I would entertain myself by playing them solo all day (re-writing the rules so it made sense for one person). I think all these games were a very smart correction by game companies to try to compete with the burgeoning video game market at the time. Rather than go flat, they got more tactile and incorporated a lot of integrated movement. Speaking of vintage games, I picked up both of these in the past 6 months, and they're awesome as well (and fun to play with my 4 year-old).

Paging @SpooPoker and other Polo boys - is this the ostentatious and garish Polo I'm looking for? They want £10 for it and I have no idea about this stuff. Thanks.
