Hard to follow spoo but I did have one of those "from across the room" moments today. True thrift.

100% cashmere blanket/throw. Measures roughly 90x45 inches. N to the freaking A.

Did I screw up leaving this? It was $40. The "denim" felt weirdly soft and almost stretchy, like a pair of women's jeans. Overall it just didn't quite scream quality at me, like I'd have expected from RRL.

Made in usa, Kopp. Made in China, no.

Picked up a nice charcoal gray solid Austin Reed 100% cashmere sportcoat. I like it, but it would take a fair bit of tailoring to make it work.

Keep or flip?

Flip. You'll find better, trust me.

What exactly makes a good tie? I mean, i've bought dozens of nice ones, mostly from brands I know to be excellent, but it seems like I run across so many that would still be decent buys at 1 or 2 dollars. Material feels good, made in italy tags, design isn't too tacky, etc.

Yeah ima disagree on the charcoal sport coat. That be orphan my boy. Charcoal and sportcoat aren't really used in the same syntax, at least not solid charcoal. It's too dark and formal to go with just about any trouser other than a match, and for ties, well the options there are pretty limited too.
Def. not an orphan, which is the only reason I didn't leave it. This is very much a jacketing in terms of weight, and the cloth isn't totally solid – more of a heather, and I suppose some would call it dark gray rather than charcoal (certainly not "almost black"). Should have snapped a pic – it's a hair darker than this jacket I saw on tumblr:

@barrelntrigger I've already found better. But I like this one.

EDIT:

Damn, found the exact thing on eBay. This is weird.

Anyway, I shouldn't have asked for advice because apparently I'm feeling obstreperous and not taking any of the advice given. Still don't know what exactly I'm gonna do. But whatever. Worst case scenario, I get it altered and decide I don't like it.

Haha. That's my listing. I wore that jacket to a few winter events and recently put it up for sale since it fit just a little off and have others I wear more often. Def not a suit coat. If it doesn't sell this round, I'm going to finally get it tailored and wear it again.

Man, then we're gonna have to start emailing each other to make sure we don't wear the same outfits on the same days.
