Once you build up a nice sized collection it all starts to look the same.
They keep rehashing the same **** over and over again...

Just uncovered from storage a couple of nice examples of made in USA RRL pants from the early 90s. Purchased by me at a NYC area employee sale when I was a Sr. Product Manager for Polo/Ralph Lauren for Boys.

NOS (dry cleaned once, never worn) Western styled linen pants, worthy of a RRL museum display, 38.5W x 33.75L

Packed away after worn a few times dual reverse pleat cotton houndstooth pants, 36W x 31.75L

It does sort of go down this way, but I do think every season there are a couple of items that still inflame my interests and keep me hooked on the brand. It is nice to be able to be selective, and not drunk with desire for everything they put out.

just got back from the sale, hoit was right - i've never seen so much RRL at a sale before! racks on racks on racks.

24 hours later from when hoit went, this is what was left from the items he mentioned. for those that messaged me, if you didnt hear back from me, the items you were looking for were already gone when i got there.

all the ties and chinos were nowhere to be found. only chinos were the ones below.

Naval Wool Officer's Chino - still a bunch left. i picked up pairs for those that needed. i believe i have these sizes available if anyone needs: 29 x 32, 32 x 30, 32 x 32. otherwise they're going up on ebay.

Does the sale on the 11th include a drop on what is already up or is it just winter line stuff going on sale?

Sigh. I wanted one of those naval overshirts. Thanks for looking.

I have those naval chinos. Those and the deadstock cottonwork pants are my favorite trousers from this season. I recommend them if there are any fence sitters.

Naval pants are TTS in my experience.

If they are buckle backs expect the waist to be a little over an inch larger, at least in my experience

I shot these for RKD since I know he is a fan of the Aran sweaters, but I figured I would share them with all of you ;)

The aran wool shawl sweater was online, but I found this hooded one in store at the Melrose location. It is really a great piece, tight knit, and while not heavy it is very warm. I'm sure it is part of the Royal Navy collection as evidenced by the buttons. It is one of my favorites from this season. Goes very well with the Navy wool chinos that Deez harvested today.

They aren't bucklebacks, but have the side pulls similar to the Byrd pants from last F/W. I just put the tape on mine, and the 32 is coming out to 32. The cotton wool blend is a nice thick material, pretty unique fabric. I haven't felt the like. It is one of those things that I look for when wanting to add to my collection these days, those special things that make RRL seem unique. I no longer want to buy pants from RRL that while they may have many nuances, be specially milled, etc, in the end seem like an expensive pair of chinos similar to other brands. The heavy 11oz twill cottons, etc. make the brand special. Stuff like these that list at $260 don't really move me that much.
