At that price point you could do Ezra Paul for made to measure or Sid Mashburn for off the rack (pretty sure Mashburn still does complimentary alterations in house).
How frequently do you plan to wear your tuxedo? If it’s just going to be once for the wedding I think $2k is a lot. But if you can manage $2k I’d think about Ring Jacket through the Armoury at $2.5k!

hi --- not sure if this the right thread. would love some recommendations on bespoke tailors here in or around Washington DC. looking for a real bespoke tailor not made to measure. your advice is appreciated.
Many of the major bespoke tailors have DC dates when the come to the US. At varying price points:

Steven Hitchcock will be here october 19 and 20.

Divij Bespoke will be in the area (stops in Towson, DC, and Tyson's) from Dec 8-13

Huntsman in DC Oct 24-25

Cad and the Dandy in DC Nov 16-17

There are probably many others.

If you have a nice tuxedo, you'll find places and reasons to wear it: the opera, galas, a nice restaurant, etc.

Checked out Denson Liquor Bar and it did not disappoint. Got a nice cocktail that was basically a boulevardier but with fernet instead of amaro.

Ezra Paul jacket (which I used to think was hopsack but may actually be mockleno?), Gitman tie, Benjamin shirt, Dapper Classics trou.

what was it?
Haha… one sympathizes. I used to lose umbrellas on the Metro, both the train and the bus. I’ve been known to leave one on the bus only to realize it as I was walking through the front door. I quickly jumped in my car and chased down the bus. Then, once I started buying nicer umbrellas that was it, problem solved. At least for now…

Great combo, great jacket.

Yes. Prefect weather for that jacket. Agreed on the color. So good.
I love my Valstarino! But I’ve put on a few pounds so it’s time to put it up for sale. Fortunately, the wife and I are heading to Milan for the Christmas holidays and Valstar is on my agenda.

I lost a few nice collapsible umbrellas so started carrying full size ones to make forgetting them on Metro harder.

Metro now has a policy that their lost and found is only for electronics. So your airpods that'll break before you open the box are safe but nice umbrellas are goners.

Haha… probably because most people couldn’t conceive spending for than $5 for an umbrella. Of course, those are those umbrellas you see on the sidewalks after a heavy rain. Then again, they get the nice umbrellas for free after people leave them on the Metro trains and buses.

Just saw Dracula at the Synetic Theater. They specialize in very physical performances with minimal dialogue. Very well done all around and with sexy Vampire brides, a must for any performance of Dracula.

Also, if you're going to stage a production about a dead, soulless Vampire then Crystal City is the place to do it!
