No personal experience but I've often wondered about them myself. You think a triple leather sole on a shell shoe is a bit overkill? You can see the shoe in that listing and more at Ed Morel's site (Panta clothing) and the manufacturer has some additional images and info at: http://www.heinrich-dinkelacker.de/
If there is shoe out there priced on build quality thats it

Love these!!
thank you sir.
My favorite saddle bucks ever!
thank you rtp
Mr. DV, those are absolutely gorgeous! What sole do they have? I have been long appreciating the Indy and have been considering the Cigar ones that TSM has listed, but I think you just shifted my focus to this Ravello Plaza Indy. I might have to try and get on someone's list for these.

What do people think about speed hooks, I have like the concept of their convenience, but heard that they can break!
thanks. these have commando sole. they are from frans boone.
nephew,
i like your saddles
thank you uncle mac.

very nice looking shoes.
very nice pair of shoes.
Big thank you to Katch for the heads up on the Ravello @ the J Crew Ludlow shop. I called and they had 2 pairs available, one happened to be my size. When I got down there they offered me 10% off because my shoes were the floor model, and when they rang me up they ended up giving me 20% off, Score!! So I ended up paying $575 before tax, amazing deal. They have one pair of 11Ds left if anyone is interested. This is my second pair of Aldens. I bought my first Aldens (brown chromexcel lwb's) earlier this week and thought I'd have to wait a couple years for Ravello which was my first choice.

Here they are...

those look great. +1 brass eyelets. +2 for a great deal.

Very cool. However, I wouldn't light a cigarette anywhere close to that shoe after thoroughly spraying it down...

This is insane! Best suede protection ever? Do yourself a favor and take 1 minute to watch this video

This is not that special, the Allen Edmonds suede protector does basically the same thing though i have not tried it with coffee I have tried it with water.
